A New Fascism

Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld today told a group of veterans that the U.S. “faces a new kind of fascism,” echoing President Bush’s recent reference to “Islamo-fascists.” The problem with this language is that Islamic fundamentalists causing terror in Iraq or the U.S. is not fascism at all.
